IPSWICH BUSES CHANGES FOR FEBRUARY

Seen about in the snow today was Enviro 200 105 YX66 WCJ waiting to leave on a 12,all services were E200 operated with the exception of E300 83 on the 12/15 routes.

Listed below which is now on the Ipswich Buses website, are the changes to fares and routes as mentioned yesterday, what disappoints me is the lack of a bus along London Road into Hadleigh Road in the evening even though there is a Lidl, Sainsburys and the Anglia Retail Park.

18 February 2018 Service & Fare Changes

There will be some changes to Ipswich Buses routes, fares and timetables on 18 February.

These changes include:
Buses will no longer go to Martlesham on service 4.
Service 14 to Gippeswyk Park will no longer operate, although the Local Authority is considering whether to provide a replacement service.
All Sunday services will cease at about 8pm as there is little usage after this time. Although the local authority is considering whether to provide any replacement services.
We will be improving services from Ravenswood, Waterfront, Castle Hill and Henley Road into the town centre.
Passengers will be able to travel direct from Dale Hall and Castle Hill to Whitehouse ASDA and the Anglia Retail Park.
On some routes, additional buses will be scheduled to improve the reliability of services. This includes separating service 6 into two individual routes.
Where possible, timetables have been made simpler to understand.

Fares

A new fare structure will be introduced on the town services. There will be three simple adult fare bands. These will be priced at £1.00, £1.50 and £2.00 for single fares with returns at £1.90, £2.90 and £3.80. The fare boundaries have been changed between the different parts of the town with the result that some fares will be lower and others higher than previously charged.
Full details of the new fares will be published shortly.

Details of the changes by service are as follows:

Service 1: Ipswich Central - Greenwich - Ravenswood - John Lewis at Home & Waitrose

This new service will replace parts of service X1 and 6/6A. It will operate half hourly on Mondays to Saturdays providing a faster service from Greenwich to the Town Centre and also providing new links from Greenwich to Ravenswood and Priory Heath.
Combined with service 2, there will be four daytime buses per hour through Ravenswood and Gainsborough and also through the University and Waterfront area.

Service 2: Ipswich Central – Cliff Lane - Gainsborough - Ravenswood - Hospital

This new service will replace part of routes 6/6A. It operates half hourly on Mondays to Saturdays and hourly in the evenings and on a Sunday. The former route of service 6 has been shortened to terminate at the Hospital, as the previous service that continued on to Northgate and Rushmere was not operating reliably due to traffic delays. However, through buses from the Hospital have been maintained at school times to serve schools in Rushmere and Northgate. Outside of school times it will still be possible to travel from Gainsborough to Rushmere by changing buses at the Hospital.
Combined with route 1, there will be four daytime buses per hour through Ravenswood and Gainsborough and also through the University and Waterfront area.
The last bus on Sunday evenings will operate at 19.25.

Service 3: Ipswich Central - Nacton Road - John Lewis at Home & Waitrose

This route will replace service X3 and will also partly replace the X1 between Ipswich and Nacton Tesco. It will now provide an improved 12 minute service along the length of Nacton Road on Mondays to Fridays with peak period buses continuing to Ransomes and The Havens.
On Saturdays a 15 minute service will be operated and, in the evenings, an hourly service is to be provided. An hourly service will also continue to run on Sundays during retail store opening hours continuing to Warren Heath Sainsbury store.
Peak buses from the rail station will be maintained. However, the routing via Ransomes will be changed to a clockwise loop in both peak periods, serving the John Lewis stop just once, before the Ransomes loop. New stops at the Holiday Inn and the Orwell Country Park will be served with buses rejoining the townward route at the Nacton Road/Crane Boulevard stop.
The fares on this service will change from 18th February.

Service 4: Ipswich Central - Felixstowe Road - Broke Hall - Bixley

This route will continue to operate twice per hour on Mondays to Saturdays but the peak and lunchtime Martlesham extensions will no longer run. The timetable will therefore now be much simpler with all journeys running via Broadlands Way in Bixley.
The peak buses to and from the Station will now operate to and from the Town Centre only.
The fares on this service will change from 18th February.

Service 5: Ipswich Central - Foxhall Road - Ipswich Hospital, Garrett Anderson Centre

This route, previously numbered route X5, will continue to operate every 12 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays. On Sundays, buses will run every 30 minutes although the Sunday bus at 08.44 from the Hospital will no longer operate.
In the evenings ,buses will extend from the Hospital to Rushmere and Northgate, operating every 30 minutes with route number 5E. The last Sunday bus from the Town Centre will run at 19.30. Although the Local Authority is considering whether to provide additional evening and weekend services, so this may change.

Service 6: Ipswich Central - Northgate - Rushmere - Hospital

This service will operate every 20 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays and hourly on a Sunday. The former route of service 6 has been shortened to terminate at the Hospital to reduce delays. It will be possible to continue on to Warren Heath and Gainsborough by changing buses at the Hospital.
On Monday to Saturday evenings, service 6 will no longer operate. However, half hourly evening buses on service 5 (via Foxhall Road) will extend from the Hospital to Rushmere, Northgate and Woodbridge Road before returning to the Town Centre via Foxhall Road. Although the Local Authority is considering whether to provide additional evening and weekend services, so this may change.
On Sundays the last bus to Northgate will leave at 19.52.

Service 7: Ipswich Central - Dale Hall - Henley Road - Stratford Court - Asda & Anglia Retail Park

This new service will replace routes 17 and 19 and will now provide additional links to Whitehouse ASDA and Anglia Business Park from both Dale Hall and Castle Hill.
It will operate hourly on Mondays to Saturdays restoring a regular service to the centre of Castle Hill.
Buses will now run both ways through Dale Hall giving hourly links to the Town Centre and also to Castle Hill and Whitehouse.
The Henley Road stops at The Grove and Clive Road will also see an increased hourly service.

Service 8: Ipswich Central – Bramford Road - Whitehouse Asda & Anglia Retail Park

Only minor changes will be made to this service, running every 10 minutes on Mondays to Saturday daytimes and every 20 minutes on Sundays. However, the Sunday timetable which will cease at 19.35.

Services 9/10: Ipswich Central – Norwich Road – Castle Hill

There will be minor changes to the timetable, particularly on Saturdays.
The Sunday timetable will operate up to the 20.10 departure.

Service 11A: Whitton – Castle Hill – Ipswich Central – Northgate High School

This school day service will start from Whitton and Castle Hill in the mornings to avoid students changing buses in the town centre and to provide more capacity on service 9.

Service 12: Ipswich Central – Chantry - Cambridge Drive

The daytime timetable will only see minor changes. However, the last buses from the Town Centre will now run at 19.55 on all days of the week.
Cardinal Park will no longer be served by service 12. However, service 13 will still provide links to Cardinal Park from Chantry.
The fares on this service will change from 18th February.

Service 13: Ipswich Central – Chantry – Pinewood - Tesco

There will be minor changes to the timetable which will still provide a ten minute service through the daytime.
On Sundays, the last bus will leave the town centre at 19.45.
The fares on this service will change from 18th February.

Service 14: Ipswich Central – Gippeswyk Park

This service will no longer operate due to low passenger usage. Services 12, 13 and 15 still provide frequent services through Chantry. Although the Local Authority is considering whether to provide a subsidised service, so this may change.

Services 15/15A: Ipswich Central – Stoke Park – Thorington – Pinewood – Ipswich Central

These services will remain on a 20 minute timetable through the daytime period. However, there will be some changes in the peak periods aimed at improving service timekeeping and at quieter times on Saturdays, fewer buses will run.
On Monday to Saturday evenings, buses will run as service 15E operating hourly between the Town Centre, Maidenhall and Stoke Park to Thorington only. The last bus from the Town Centre will depart at 22.15.
On Sundays, an hourly service will run up to the 19.35 bus. Between Hadleigh Road and the Town Centre, buses will run via Handford Road instead of Cardinal Park to give a later service to this part of Town. Cardinal Park will still be served on Sundays by buses running to the Town Centre on the Stoke Park side of the loop.

Service 16: Ipswich Central – Halifax – Stoke Park – Ipswich Central

Service 16 will now operate hourly on Mondays to Saturdays with an unchanged routing.

Service 17: Ipswich Central – Henley Road – Stratford Court

This service will be replaced by the new, more frequent service 7 which also offers a link to Aldi at Castle Hill and ASDA at Whitehouse.
However, the stop at Onehouse Lane/ Henley Road will no longer be served.

Service 19: Ipswich Central – Dale Hall

Service 19 will be replaced by the new service 7 which will link Dale Hall to both the Town Centre and Whitehouse ASDA hourly on Mondays to Saturdays.

Service 93: Ipswich Central – Colchester

There will be minor changes to the morning peak timetable to improve service timekeeping. The 08.17 bus from Ipswich will now also operate via Washbrook and Copdock.
A second bus will now operate on the service 95 journeys to and from East Bergholt High School.

Services X1 – X3: Ipswich Central – Nacton Road – Greenwich/John Lewis at Home and Waitrose
