Today the bus war hotted up with the introduction of the 3 new IB services the X3 to Ravenswood, the X5 to Ipswich Hospital and the 6A to Gainsborough, for which 4 of the 5 new darts bought for these routes, were in operation 138/9 on the X5 and 142/3 on the X3, on both of these routes the IB promotions team were out and about handing out leaflets, on the other route the 6A was Enviro 300 83, as this was the first day patronage wasn't too high, indeed along Foxhall Road both IB and First were swapping places again at most swaps. Meanwhile First had out there usual mixture of buses including 42431 and 69007 on the 70 and on the 56/55/60/61 cycle were 43486/65673/65532/65590/65690/69005/69431. A surprise on the Felixstowe's today was what is believed to be an loan from Great Yarmouth of Northern counties Palatine 2 Olympian 34157, the first time an Olympian of this bodywork has been used in Ipswich.
