HIGH WINDS? SEE UNUSUAL BUSES

Today saw a plethora of different Buses allocated to different routes, kicking it all off we see ex Carters Trident 7 LX03 BTF allocated to the 6/A due to the alleged high winds on the Orwell Bridge, with the result being Single Deckers allocated to the 92-94 in place of the usual Tridents and Lowlanders, seen on the ex Carters routes around lunchtime were Optare Excel 172/73 and Dart SPD 134 nothing turned up on the 97 as far as i was aware, nor did the 12.12 into the Old Cattle Market 92 from Manningtree.
Seen heading out late after a run in from Colchester on the 94 is Dart SPD 137 SN53 AVP i can and i don't know if others remember but back in Eastern Counties days in the 1990's there was always a mixture of Single Deckers on Colchester's including Nationals, Lances, Greenways, Darts, and Javelins i can't see the need for Double Deckers off peak, definitely you need them between 7-9 am and 3-4pm for East Bergholt High School but during the day sometimes you can be the only one upstairs although i will admit i loved having a Bristol VR speeding round the lanes!
Other unusual happenings today saw Trident 12 LG02 FDC on the X1 while sisters 14/16 were on usually single deck worked 4's, X3 saw all day action for Lowlander 100, whilst there was an extra Decker for the 15A with ex Lothian Trident 24 which moved onto the 1615 6 service.
Optare Versa's don't usually see action on the 8 to Whitehouse, Anglia Retail Park but as Deckers were on it's usual haunts the X1/3/4, 149/151/152 were 3 that were, although 152 broke down around 1400 in the First allocated stop for the 60/61 but was well enough later on to be driven back to the depot by a fitter. Scania Omnicty 72 YN56 NVD also slipped onto an unusual route the soon to disappear 19 to Castle Hill before later progressing to the 6/A .

First Ipswich Park and Ride services were also effected by today's high winds, but managed to keep to the timetable fairly well although 67773 was taken off for a while before restarting again from the Old Cattle Market seen here is 67760 SN62 APF.
